Does My Door Need Replacing?

If you have a broken door, especially a crack in the pane, the following information will help to relieve your concerns.

If the glass is damaged below approximately waist height then it has to be toughened to the British Standard. This can be achieved by heat treatment to toughen the glass, laminated glass or adding an approved plastic safety film onto the glass. Either way it must meet building regulations.

The red area is critical location and needs to be replaced:

Replacement Door Guidelines

The regulations were implemented based on risk analysis of the hazards and possible injuries from glass at vulnerable locations.

A swinging sheet of glass (whether in a door or window) is more likely to sustain damage and more likely to cause injury if damaged, than a fixed, or limited opening Casement Window.

1/ Why chose a Conservatory?

What are you looking to accomplish when buying a conservatory? If you’re looking at your options for change you can move, build an extension or add a conservatory.

2/ What are you using it for?

It is a good idea to think about what you will use it for before looking at buying. if you know what its use will be, the designing process will be a lot easier.

Many sites offer you online quotes. But be wary, lots of these sites will take your details and then sell them on the a 3rd party, meaning you’ll be rung by a strange company, without having the ability to research them or even know anything about them.

The following is a testimonial from a recent customer of ours after having Double Glazinginstalled:

We had our front uPVC windows installed by a different company some years ago who didn’t do a good job to be frank. My wife and I decided that it was time to get some new windows installed.

We found Conservatory Outlet online, looked at some of their reviews, and then rang up to speak with your staff. They were very friendly and we arranged a meeting time for them to come around and look at our windows.

A sales rep came round the following day and showed us the type of windows that were available to us. We went with Casement Windows as we felt they would be the best option for us and they suited our house more than the others we thought.

After having the windows fitted we decided that we wanted our rear windows replacing as well. So now we have some quality double glazing on all of our home.

Thanks to your company, our windows have actually helped reduce our heating bill each month too. Thanks again for our new windows.

Conservatory Cost set to Increase in 2010

Proposed changes to building regulations in 2010 could add some thousands of pounds on to Conservatory Costs – Matthew Glover, Managing Director of Conservatory Outlet, explains that people should look to buy now before these regulations start to come into force.

The construction industry says that proposals in a draft consultation for the 2010 version of Part L of the Building Regulations will see home extensions become more expensive for people looking to invest in their house.

Consumers who are looking to add extensions could be forced to spend thousands more pounds improving the energy efficiency of the rest of their property, under the new proposals. Matthew Glover believes the extra cost is likely to be around and additional £2,000.

These new regulations will cover Conservatories for the first time and that means higher carbon reduction targets which would include electric heating, floor, wall and glass restrictions to make the conservatory more energy efficient.

Matthew Glover added, “Conservatory Outlet build their conservatories to the highest standard, virtually complying with building regulations. But the requirement to upgrade other areas of the property at the same time will undoubtedly add to the cost of a project.”

For those wishing to avoid extra costs involved with the proposed regulations, the only way to do so is to have their conservatory or orangery built this year (in 2009).

With recession and housing crisis, there are currently some great Orangery and Conservatory Deals to be had. We currently offer a massive 30% off of conservatories and offer the chance to pay on finance, not having to pay for 12 months and keeping a the low price that we currently offer.

Conservatory Outlet is a manufacturer of PVC Windows, doors and conservatories with showrooms in Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria, Shropshire, Mid Wales and South Wales.

Conservatories Warrington

The following is a customer testimonial for Conservatories in Warrington.

Dear Sir/Madam,

We recently had a Victorian Conservatory installed on to our house in Leeds.

We bought our PVC Windows from you before, which is why we decided to come back.

The installers were excellent, they were very polite and went about their job with no fuss, we also felt at ease trusting them with our home. They did a great job. The customer service you provided was also top notch as always.

The CAD design program you used also helped us see what our choice would look like and we made a few adjustments and re-drew it a few times until we had something which my partner and I both really liked the look of. The spreadsheet pricing was extremely quick and well created as well as it automatically updated the price whenever anything was adjusted.

Thanks once again for our new Conservatory, it looks great and our neighbours are very jealous.

Mr Hugo,
Warrington,
Cheshire

Reduce Carbon Footprint

Can new windows save you money?

Conservatory Outlet uses low emittance glass that uses a coating lying between the layers of glazing, which makes the glass reflective – keeping energy in. The unique system keeps the house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer as well as saving you money.

Reducing your carbon footprint is a hot topic at the moment and Energy Rated Windows have been touted as a great addition to a home. We all need to take a part in doing our bit for the environment and energy efficient windows are a fantastic way of doing this. They will help to reduce your carbon foot print and save you a lot of money too.

dec-08-jan-09-098

We use new materials in glass insulation that help to create a more energy efficient glass, such as glass coatings, gas fillers, warm edge spacers and new frame materials. The A Rated Windows range is the most energy efficient window available. We also offer lesser rated windows, which can save you money but cost slightly less.

Our Energy Efficient Windows mean that there will be no draughts letting the warm air out. At the moment, with you normal Double Glazing Windows you are using more heat and energy than necessary because of a window that is not designed to keep the warm air inside.

So please research in to energy efficient windows today or for pricing information request a free quote online.
