We have seen all sorts of weird and wonderfully designed skyscrapers built in this country over the past few years including the Walkie Talkie, Cheesegrater and Gherkin.
However, Melbourne is set to take skyscraper design to the next level by developing a skyscraper wholly inspired by a Beyoncé video.
Christened the ‘Premier Tower’, the curve-like design is strongly influenced by the fabric wrapped dancers who feature in the popular American singer’s video for her hit song ‘Ghost’.
78-storeys high, it will house 660 apartments, 160 hotel rooms and retail space, sitting in the city’s central business district.
Upon unveiling the design, the architects behind it said: “For those more on the art than science side, we will reveal that the form does pay homage to something more aesthetic. We’re going to trust you’ve seen the music video for Beyoncé’s ‘Ghost.”
It isn’t the first time that a skyscraper shares a so-called likeness to a well-known public figure.
The Absolute World Towers in Canada are fondly nicknamed “Marilyn Monroe” due to the curvy shape of the two towers and was voted Skyscraper of the Year in 2013.
Unfortunately we can’t help increase the height of your home and give it such a towering presence, however, we can stretch it outwards with a conservatory or orangery.
Our many home extensions will give you more home to love and you can see several of them on display at each of our three showrooms. They’re all stylish, secure and superb when it comes to providing energy efficiency and can be transformed into virtually any form of living space. Expect them to add significant value too.
Come check them out today.
